About Funny People Cry Too

welcome to Funny people cry too

Have you experienced trauma that you can’t stop thinking about? Are you ridden with anxiety? Struggling with depression? Do you hate what you see when you look in the mirror? Does guilt or shame rule your life?

Then you have mental health wounds that need to be healed.

There are hundreds of professionals in the mental health field, like therapists and psychologists, committed to the healing process. While these people can do incredible things, I’ve only been able to heal my own mental health wounds by learning and conversing with those who are experts in the lived experience. That’s what I have.

I’m an expert in the lived experience.

I’ve experienced hundreds of catastrophic, anxiety-chilling, and traumatic life experiences that should have prevented me from going anywhere in life past under the covers of my bed. But I’ve managed to press on. How?

By educating myself on mental health.

We can’t achieve any of our goals or dreams in life until our mental health wounds are healed. Funny People Cry Too is the digital network where I teach you how to do that. Through holistic mental health tips and a live show, I show you how to heal and nourish the most important thing we have in life, our mind.

This Is Where We Laugh. We Cry. We Share Our Pain.

about the founder

In one word, Sarah is a storyteller.  She is a memoir writer, screenwriter, actor, and former stand up comedian based in Los Angeles.

In 2019, Sarah was asked to go on the road to be a full time comedian, but realized her heart wasn’t in writing jokes, it was in storytelling.  However, the stories she found the most inspirational, and often the funniest, weren’t told on a stage, they were told in the green room. They were the stories of pain that lead to the  jokes. Listening to comedian’s personal stories night after night, she heard the same thing, a desperation for funny people to not always be viewed as funny.  In short,  Funny People do Cry Too. This is how this platform came to be.

Sarah nows hosts the annual sold-out live show, Funny People Cry Too, where a portion of proceeds from every show goes directly back to The National Alliance of Mental Illness. As the daughter of a mother with a mental heath condition, Sarah advocates as a peer educator with the mental health awareness program, End The Silence, where she has spoken to crowds of 400+, is a member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness, and is now in preparation to publish her first book.
