How To Submit Your Story

So, you want to tell a story in one of our live storytelling shows? That’s amazing! We would love to hear from you as we’re always on the hunt for new storytellers. And no – you don’t have to be a stand up comedian to be in the show. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE comedians, but sometimes the most comical stories come from the most unlikely professions – the stay at home mom, the substitute teacher, the bartender. Each one of us was born with a sense of humor. Each one of us was born with a unique point of view, and we’d love to hear yours!

If you have a story idea related to mental health in any way that you feel would be a great fit for our live storytelling show, please feel free to email you submissions to: funnypeoplecrytoo@gmail.com

But before you do we have some pointers that may help you!

Know Before Submitting

Each story should be between 5-8 minutes.

To submit your story, please send us an mp3 or a video of you performing your story. Please note, this doesn’t have to have high production value at all! We just want to hear your voice telling your story, that’s all.

You can pitch a story idea to us at anytime! Even if a show isn’t coming up in the near future, send your idea along. It’s always better to get your ideas to us sooner rather than later for when a show is announced the stories start flooding in.

All stories should tie into mental health + theme of the night.

Perhaps, you are the child of a parent with a mental health condition and have a funny yet tragically enlightening story you want to share. Maybe you want to share a story about your own mental health journey – your first time going to therapy or how an unlikely adventure taught you how to heal.
Stories can be hilariously funny, horrific, tragic, or inspiring… anything goes here.

If you have an idea for a story and not sure if it relates to mental health, send it our way! You’d be surprised how many moments in life come back to our mental health.
